Hello everyone, first, my apologies if I have posted this in the wrong area, I'm not sure exactly which category my question will fit under. Has anyone heard of or have any opinions on the following dogs? Any honest opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!
I'm looking at a pup from him but the lady's name is different. If they are from Southern Illinois though I bet they are the same people or work together. I'm going Thursday to look at the pup. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I'm trying to learn as much as I possibly can about the bloodline and get an idea of what the puppy is going to be like as an adult. I've never had a working line GSD before. Kinda nervous but very excited about it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
I have seen a few dogs out of Car and all were excellent. He is definitely one of the more vogue studs as is Titus. I heard that one year Car produced all of the Czech national team. Might be an exaggeration but there is no denying the success of his progeny. I have also heard the Car Titus cross called the "Holy Cross" for the number of excellent dogs produced out of the breedings. Norbo Ben Ju being one of the more famous and popular ones. Good luck with the new pup. Pick out the crazy one!!
I recently used Barny to cover a female I have. The female pup I have hear now from Barny is "SUPER CHARGED" already. Her tails wags 90mph and she's a baby alligator already. But then again her dam has EXTREME drives so I'm sure she had a lot to do with it.
Car Kostolianskej produced quite a few top caliber dogs such as 6x WUSV Norbo Ben Ju, WUSV Tea Ben Ju, 10x World Competitor Emir Chabet, 3x WUSV Ema III Chabet.
I also have a Emir Chabet grandson and he's just like his sire. Shows great working potential. He's a fighter during the bite work but hips :-( so he's going to face early retirement. LOL
The club I recently starting going to (OG Indy - Mike Diehl). Mike had a Barny son who was really nice and drivey. He says the young male turned out really nice. I'm not sure who has him now.
I met Barny a few months ago and he's quite intimidating <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
If your from southern illinois you could check out barny at von zoeller kennels in DuQuoin, IL. Randy and laura are good people and take excellent care of the dogs they own. Isnt barny part of that "magic cross" bloodline?
I wouldn't call it a bloodline but YES Barny is a what they call the "magic cross" with Car Kostolianskej and Titus Pohranicni Straze.
Let truth be told, I think that name was acquired solely because of the "T" Ben Ju litter with Trixa, Tea and Tango particular.
Laura and Randy are nice people
The Barny pup I have here is two handfuls. I've never seen such a pup so insane already.
Then again she is linebred 2-3 on Car Kj and 3-4 on Titus <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
I'm not a fan of Car z Kostolianskej cesty. I just got back from a trip to Europe that ended in the Czech Republic. I saw a lot of dogs that have come down from Car. Not dogs that I consider to be outstanding models of the old Czech type. I don't think he's a bad producer, but I'm not a fan. I'd be skeptical of placing too much worth on Car in a pedigree.
I personally think that most of the greatness in the Titus/Car crosses come from Titus. Titus produced well to just about anything he was bred to. LOL
"T" litter Ben Ju is a prime example. The linebreeding is intense, not to mention that the motherline goes to Cordon An-Sat through Marco z Danaru, dogs that without question produce the correct Czech type. Hard, aggressive, drivy, manhunting, edgy dogs. Honestly, there isn't a weak dog in the pedigree and I'm not saying Car is a poop eater. It's a great breeding because every single dog in the pedigree was a great working dog and has produced. But to say that the T litter happened because of a cross between Titus and Car is little lame IMO.
Just to reiterate what I said Van Camp, I personally don't believe in the whole "Magic Cross" stuff. I think the T litter is how some people came up with the theory. Whether fact or fiction.
I have seen many nice dogs out of Car minus the Titus
Cordon and Marco I like to see as well
I have seen Emir Chabet in action and most recently his son El zo Solivarskeho is nice as well. While Emir is quite a nice dog competing over 10x in World competitions, he is not a choice stud because of hip issues
Anyway I don't want to steer too much off the original subject of the post.
My final word.... I would consider the breeding with Barny if the bitch is nice as well. But go see them and decide for yourself if it's a match ;-)
