My 3 yr old Golden Ret. (Noley) has been vomitting on and off today. It is yellow in color and kind of foamy. I suspect that it is stomach bile. He has been on antibiotics for about two weeks and is finishing up the last of one medication. His appetite is nonexistent and he is a little lethargic. Anything y'all can tell me would be helpful. I do not want him to suffer if it is something serious, but if it is relatively minor I will just continue to nurse him through it until he is feeling better.
Thanks and keep us in mind as we prepare for Wilma. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Unfortunately he finished the anibiotic yesterday and I no longer have the bottle and do not know what it was. He is finishing up Omega 3 Fatty Acid capsules, one capsule twice a day. Sorry that I do not have more info. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Terry
Some antibiotics can cause vomiting (cephazolin, clavamax etc). It's really hard to give advice as to what to do with a dog if I can't see it. If my dog was in the situation that your is in I would look at the whole picture. Check the dogs temp (should be around 102 F). Check hydration status ;tent the skin between the shoulder blades, it should quickly return to normal. If it doesn't the dog could either be dehydrated, which in case he should be taken to the vet or some older dogs have less elasticity to the skin making if difficult to decipher the skin turger test. You can also feel the inside of the mouth to test hydration status. If my dog has a fever or is dehydrated I would take him to the vet. If he doesn't and he is just lethargic and anorexic I would just watch him and continue to monitor. It's just really tough to say when I can't see the dog. I have known Golden to have weaker GI's. They can develop gastritis from antibiotic pretty easily.
