Heard from a friend that went that at the end of his track he pulled out a tug and played with Qenny. That was supposedly the "last straw", as he was observed on the OB field and the protection field prior to the start. I got this from a friend who attended.
Well,
I know I'll get a back lash for this but the protection scores are pretty weak. Particularly while I hear how much better Mali's are than GSD's.
Or was the judging just soooo hard???
Scores over all were nothing to brag about. Just curious what that may be attributed to.
I showed my dog in this event and had the highest scoring protection dog in this championship...the judging was extremely tight as there were a lot of excellent dogs in this trial. My dog got a 100 point protection routine for his SchH III and his performance was as good or better for this trial than that one. Quadroni judged this trial like a true championship and is highly respected throughout the world.
Just for the record, Ivan and his dog Quenny posted a 96/96/95 for a 287 score before they disqualified him...
Ivan and Quenny would've been the highest scoring team in the protection and obedience phases and would've won the championship by a landslide. - Greg

Kevin, it is so plain to see, I would think a man of your caliber would have seen this and understand what has happened here. Since you missed this, what has happened is that the Malinois, are begining to rebel and for good reason . I mean how dare they be put in shame before all to see, to see them having to stoop to the GSD's levels and be forced to merely work schutzhund. Between being bored out of their minds, and rebelling in protest of wanting some excitement in their lives, it has reflected in the scores this year . Not to mention the low turn out, dogs, people, everyone is rebelling. I could only imagine how those poor Malis must have felt out there. Probably like requiring the entire UFC roster to to wear leatars (however thats spelled) and visit old nursing homes to read to them or call bingo numbers. I mean putting mals in schutzhund is like putting the motley crew in the New York symphony, way to boring for them.
Testing a Mali on a schutzhund field is like testing a delta force operator's physical fitness on an Air Force PT test standard. The real challenge there is not falling asleep while doing it. If it's not challenging your likely to get a half hearted display
PS: I'm mostly joking obviously, but there is a bit of truth in my joke IMO.

Now that was funny! I think for an AF PT test all you have to do is show up right?
