Okay everyone, it's starting to get chilly up here in Canada, at noon time today its 45F (7C)! Our club's annual meeting is next week, and I was thinking it would be fun to challenge our members to trial somewhere WARM in 2007!
So my question to you.... who (DVG only please) consistently holds a trial in January or February within 2-3 days drive of New Brunswick Canada that we could set our sites on for 2007?
Could be fun to have an exchange... while you southerners are choking on August heat, you could come up and trial in our late August trials!
Anyway, just trying to keep warm thoughts! Looking forward to some input!
Tammy, our DVG club had it's last SchH trial in early Jan. of last year and while the weather was great, we only ended up with four dogs entered ( and two of them were mine ).
Considering how many clubs are in our area, we were more than a little disappointed, let me say. Plus it was our first trial, and we took quite a financial hit, not to mention a morale hit for the members.
In comparison, we hold an ASR trial twice a year at our club, and the lowest entry we've ever had has been 11.
And people wonder why I'm more enthusiastic about ASR nowadays...

That is a disappointing turn out. Our trial this past August we exepected two full days, however we ended up with 17 (I think!)entries. Our group is smaller now, but committed!
Where in Georgia are you? Do you think you would hold a trial in that time frame? We could probably do the trip in 2 days!

Thanks Angela, now we just have to convince them to do it again in 2007!
It will take more than 3 months for us to fund raise for an undertaking such as this let alone train our dogs (most of them youngsters)!
I figure a 12 passenger van, plus an 8-10 dog cargo van with a trailer full of dog food and Canadian beer!
Most try to keep around the same time frames each year. Am surprised that so many are doing trials early this year since not alot of training gets done during the summer due to the heat....
