You have to be careful of any bite work but if you go and get the shammies that you would use to wipe your cars after washing them, role some felt then tube the shammie over the felt, it will make a soft tube that your pup can bite without getting his teeth stuck and soft enough not to hurt his sore gums. But certainly be careful of any heavy bite work at this stage.
We will do a LOT of drive building and teasing for one bite.. then the pup carries off the sleeve.
To me it is just not worth doing anymore than that. All it takes is one time of associating BAD pain with the bite and you have a serious, if not permanent problem. If the dog is worth a crap he will be just fine with a couple of months off <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
HA! knew I wasn't the only one! (dances around) Do not jerk on the rag or whatever. I just get them as crazy as possible and put the rag in their mouth. Then they run off the field, usually shaking their heads. Soooo cute!
