The muzzle work video of that dog is horrible! As is that of one of the other A'tim offspring they are trying to pimp. I am surprised they posted that.
Multiple E-collars, including belly bands are used (or should be) for direction NOT correction. Using an ecollar around the belly for out problems, makes no sense. It would be like putting a prong collar around the thigh to get the dog to out?
I am uneducated on this subject so I do not have an opinion on whether this is right or wrong. It does strike me as odd though to have it around the waist/groin area. I was impressed with the dogs in the videos, so they must have a good training program. I was confused about the muzzle training. It looked like they are trying to get the dog to target the crotch area? I don't know what that little square "target pad" area was but it was funny to see one of A'Tim's offspring getting mad because he had that muzzle on and couldn't bite. I am impressed with the control they have over the dogs. In this I mean the call off with the whistle. These dogs come in hard and fast and then at the last few steps hear that whistle. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> You know that has to build frustration. I guess it would be important to keep the call offs to a minimum. Thanks for the replies everyone.
Sammy, I'm a total newb to dog sports but you sounded totaly rude. Do you have any vids of your dogs doing muzzle work? I've seen some at the club but it looked a bit different. Perhap you would show us what we sould be looking for.
