Just Checking in to find out how she's doing. As someone who has pins and a plate in an ankle I can empathize with her. (But I do get around just fine now.)
The wounds you can see don't look today, or even yesterday, fresh.
Looks like she has had a pretty rough go so far.

While we're waiting to hear, did the vet give you an estimate as to how long her legs had been broken?
I have bad news.:frown:
The above quotes were the problem.
Apparently the legs had been broken much longer than we knew. The muscles in her legs, from not having the support of the bone for so long, were so much shorter than normal that he couldn't even begin to get the ends to come close to one another.
The only options were to start cutting muscle tissue to get the needed slack to align the bones. Quality of life would be drastically reduced. He saw no chance of anything that resembled a normal recovery.
I chose to end her suffering. It was a surprisingly easy choice, and I was glad to be able to give it to her.
He kept her under anesthesia until I could get there to be with her as she went.
For everybody that posted well wishes and thought about us or offered to send money to help her out, thank you is not enough.
This little pup and you guys have taught me so much about giving in the last 4 days.
From here on out I will make an honest assessment of what I can do when someone or some animal needs help. I will never turn away and will always do what I know I can to help. No matter how small that help is, I will make every effort to get it done.
Thank you guys so much.
For everybody that already put checks in the mail I can do one of 2 things. Shred the checks in the shredder that I have available to me at work or put them in another envelope and send them back to you. Whichever you want is fine with me.
Shredding will be my default action, so let me know if you would like to have it sent back to you.
Thanks again to everybody that responded on this thread.
