It probabaly needs to be Youtube or Photobucket. They're both free though, and easy.

He is good.
There was no point to the thread, it's obvious now, except to say on a board that's owned by the guy who makes the marker training videos and loaded with marker trainers that you don't like marker training.
I assumed it was to get help, but that wasn't it. That narrows the possibilities a lot.
So you deserve it, IMHO. At least you compliment the expert pot-stirring. LOL
And a lively discussion never did and never will kill this board.

connie your right
as my dimissing comment i was being a jerk i left out a lot do to typing so her goes hope the fingers hold out.
i respect anyone who is dog training ob comp, agilitily way beyond my skills fisbee etc even 4-h kids make me look bad' what i really meant about dismissing people those not in sport etc. is this. when we (police doc sch etc )are training it seems people are always making complaints your beating the dogs ,no we do touch them with the stick we have had the police called on use even though guys are in uniform. when the police show up it's the guys from the same dept. other day we had permission to train at school a employee decided to call in on the dogs and the funny thing my pup was vicious she wasn't barking chief couldn't believe even my own dept when i wrecked my squad on ice when i called it in the first question was how's the dog? second was how bad is the car lol. then the dog owners with all there worries why is he barking at me it's the people that don't understand the work that i get tired of trying to explain it. even at the pet shop lady is a excellent trainer. she is worse than me when it comes to people and dogs i forgot my favorite my dog is much bigger than your he's a 150 lb GS that's great. i'm sure this
explanation isn't enough but i'm about typed out.

I agree with you Connie.
John if you spent as much time in training your pup with or without markers, as you have here posting BS & shooting down a training technique, that you obviously don't have the skill to perfect, you would not of had the problem with the pup in the store.
If in fact the pup has been there as many times as you claim, there should have been much better behavior shown by the age of the pup now. So I guess your methods arn't as great as you profess them to be.
You need to learn alot more then 'timing' to make it here John.
I have done SchH with 2 dogs...hated the tracking & REALLKY didn't like SchH. No, I didn't title my dogs only because the trail I was going to do got cancelled & at the time I couldn't travel to the next closest one. I also didn't want to continue to track & train for another 6 monhths,in something that I didn't really enjoy, to be able to trial. There were no other Ring or sport clubs around at the time so, unfortunately, SchH was the only option. I have done alot of PP with my dogs. And yes, John, my female WILL protect me, if I need her to.
I guess that I didn't need the security of a title to tell me if I had a dog that makes the cut or not. I had enough experts to tell me that they did & that my training was sound. People that put far more titles on dogs then you have.
So I guess now you can dismiss me becasue I haven't titled 2 SchH dogs like you have. Like it really matters what you think of me or my training skills.
And no, John, I am not a DENTIST...but I have managed several dental/oral surgery practices..does that count?

I you seriously want to lean how to do it, which seems unlikely, you need to watch some of the vids. Timing IS everything in marker training. It's not hard if you are serious about learning. Hell, corrections ill-timed don't work either. Just ends up pissing the dog off, if it is a REAL dog. At least with MT ill-timed marks, just slow up the leaning prcess, but don't cause any harm or handler conflict or bad feelings with your dog.
But hey it's your dog, your rules. RIGHT?!

"i'm filming and holding the treats in one hand and giving treats in the other "
This kinda highlights a problem that I think was already mentioned .... using the rewards as a bribe.
