When I went to see him yesterday, he was acting kind of lethargic, but the tech said that it was probably because he was depressed from being there so long, and because they were force feeding him. He had not vomited though. She said that the vet said that I will probably be bringing him home this evening.

Wait a second!! Bringing him home when he is not eating by himself??
good catch, connie. i hope matthew just means that they *were* force feeding him, but he is eating on his own now.
matthew, please do my heart a favor (so it doesn't go into cardiac arrest with worry about your pup any more). if you bring that pup home, and he gets sick again, PLEASE PLEASE have ready the name of a GOOD vet and go there, and do not go back to where you have been.
that means today or tomorrow you should find out who the professional dog people are in your area and call several of them and get referrals to the best vet in town. you need this information anyway, for the future.
call the schutzhund club members, the obedience club members, the agility club members, etc. i bet you just about anything they all refer you to the same vet. (not wanting to speculate on if that will also be the vet where your pup is now.)
have that vet's name and number at the ready, and rush your pup there if you don't like anything about how he seems when you get home.
i have not added anything to this forum until now. It aint because i dont care but simply i have no suggestions.
Matt, bro i hope that your pup checks out ok. i have been reading this every since you first posted it and it sounds like you have a lot of good people trying to look out for your pup. Follow what these guys/gals say. as the saying goes 2 brains is better then 1. Best of louck to you and your pup. your pup should be lucky to have suching a caring family member. i am impressed with all you have done for him and how you have stuck by him this long. It would have been easy to just say put him down but it sounds like you are in love with your pup. there needs to be more owners like you out there. Good Luck
