Kelly can tell ya... I'm all yank and crank, baby.
None of that silly positive reward stuff here. Just makes dogs wimpy.
That, coupled with feeding the dog gunpowder is totally the way to go!

ahhh...the gunpowder! Add that to the "locking jaw" attribute I got lectured about last week when sitting at a street corner with my girl wearing her "hideous" prong...but this is San Francisco...

Aaron,
I really like that torture device. Can you remove and add links like the standard prong? Can it come apart like a standard prong, do you need a backup collar?

You can, although I had to use needle-nose pliers to add/remove them. The advantage is that no, you don't need a back-up collar, because they cannot come apart. Unless the nylon breaks or the buckle fails.
They also have a more traditional prong set-up version:

I'm hoping Leerburg eventually begins selling them.

I like the first one. It looks like they only come in 19, 24 inch.

Yep.
I got the 19 inch for Danke and ended up removing three links.
The first version I posted is *not* going to give you the same correction as a prong collar. There's no tightening and releasing. If you're only giving soft corrections, it shouldn't matter. It's just a smidge below a prong on the dead ring.
I got it for one main purpose- teaching leash pressure.
You can use pretty much any collar for it, but I liked this collar better for it. A choke or pinch would distribute the pressure around the entire neck more, which is great for a correction, and why we like them.
For using leash pressure, I wanted something that only put pressure in one direction, so the dog could be clear of which direction to move. A flat collar would work, but initially, my dog just looked at me as if to say, "Really? You expect me to be impressed? I can do this all day."
Putting the prong on the dead-ring just caused epic confusion, since she associates her prong collar with going for a walk, and immediately pops into the heel position at the slightest pressure.
So, I opted for the "flat collar" version of the Neck Tech.
It still works decently as a correction collar as well, but you don't quite have that "hydraulic" effect of the tightening pinch amplifying your correction. When I have some play money, I'm going to pick up the pinch version as well, because I really do like the look and sturdiness of the design over the traditional pinch collar.

...yeah, I knew you'd relate Kristi! She was a nice lady and I chose not to get into it with her at that time. She also advised us never to play tug -LOL! I tend to pick and choose my re-education moments depending on circumstances and audience..
Now back to the collars -that's a BA collar Aaron shows -crap, I kinda wished I got that one off Amazon -I just ordered the Starmark but I think that's a pretty effective one too?
