Michael...I just finished reading your post and tears are streaming down my face. If you need my check to help cover whatever expenses were incurred...use it. If not, put it in the stredder. You did so much more than most. Bless you.
Wow, I did not expect to see this as I logged on to see the update. I'm sorry to hear she didn't make it, but I am glad you were able to provide her with love and comfort even if only for a short time.
Ohhhh....damn. I am so sorry Michael, but very comforted in knowing that little gal did not languish in a cold ditch suffering. You and your wife did such a GOOOOD deed, and we all were lifted by your kind act. RIP Tina!
Put my check toward any vet fees or shred if not needed.
But she is so blessed to have spent her final time being loved and cared for and blessed with a peaceful end to what must have been quite a long time of pain.
This is such sad news... But Michael- the WORST of things could have happened to that little puppy had she been left there with such serious injuries. You have still done the best thing for her. You gave her a peaceful end to her suffering. Had she been left there, she could have suffered for days or even been killed by an animal.
Her last days were spent warm, comfortable, and loved. That seems to be a more precious gift than any I could imagine.
Oh, Michael and Ashley, I am so sorry. I just now saw this thread...
Remember that no act of kindness is ever forgotten. You gave her a warm place to stay, some love, some comfort, and a chance at a good life. Even if only for a brief time.
You also gave her someone to meet at the Bridge. When you see her again, she will be whole and running and jumping with no pain.
She, in turn, has left her paw print on your hearts. You will never forget her. And because of her, you will try to help other dogs in need. That will be her legacy.
Bless you and all those who pulled for this little stray dog.
