Hello every body
Ziva has shown in the past that she could be very good and change her mind without any apparent reason. (I am thinking about her food issues and how after hand feeding her for 4 weeks and that she showed to be calm and even licking my hands when she had finised and the episode of 3 days ago) But for all that is worth she never greeted me with a lot of excitment....she showed being happy to see me but more calmly than she would great my husband that she sees on weekends only or my step-son that comes every second weekends or any strangers coming over lol....but this morning I got a party greetings......It was hard not to show any kind of respond God knows I wanted to pett her and share that joy with her but I had to stay cold and show no interest to her happy behavior. I took her for a little walk heel/sit in front of the house before givine her her breaky and she was all eyes on me and coming to a sit like a hilgly trained obedient dog lol.....the 3 days in boot camp might start to make their fruits after all.....let see how the saga continues lol
As for the safety warning from board users....I thank you for your concern...I am aware of those risks and won't take any chances if I see that with her body language I might be facing a negative reaction. I'll be all eyes and will comunicate a calm and reasuring behavior myself. She has not shown aggressiveness in the past that were not triggered by a third element by that I mean not from me per say but, the excitment with the neighbour's dog transfered to the line and redirected at me that had the line in hands, or her strong drive to protect the food. Or me persisting for her to comply and not using the right method. Beside that Ziva never showed being aggressive just because....So I think I will be able to avoid any unwanted reaction that could lead to bitting. Her bitting so far were strong warnings but not to attentionaly hurt me. I hope my words are clear, I am still a bit sleepy, just woke up not long ago lol
Now on day 3 in boot camp, as soon as we come in from either potty or walk she leads me to the crate I have barely the time to unleash her before she gets in. But I think is the nice treat that she gets now to go in lol.....She is difinitely food driven lol
Ok well thanks again, got to do some home work as Willie asked me to do stuff before the test and some reading and taking notes. I am trying to be a good student lol
Thanks everybody, I am repeating myself but I do not feel alone in this journey anymore and what a load off my shoulder that makes.....it proves that distance does not matter.
Thank you Connie.
Well this is great news!!
Keep up the program and make sure you don't waver. This is often where owners back slide. Everything is going well so they let up and relax. Then all goes back to the way it was.
Good job maintaining your focus and sticking with the program Solange!!
The temperament test will be given on Saturday. She needs to go to town for some of the supplies.
I pup stays on track we will introduce the flirt pole in the next few days.
With an adult dog we would wait...but this IS a 5 month old pup. She needs to play.
Please feel free to ask questions and make comments. I REALLY don't want people to think this thread is just for Solange and I.
