... Are you f-ing kidding??? ... Get real, it's about money and it is a relatively easy way to make money. That's why so many stupid, f...ing idiots make a living doing it.
Steve, I am going to ask you to refrain from using that tone.
Thanks.
I get the passion; I really do, but let's remember what this board is: knowledgeable, and forthright but civil.
So, I guess I shouldn't post a picture of my V rated SchH2 KKl1 female and ask for a critique? Who by the way, I raised, trained and titled myself. I guess she is just a fluke. Don't tell her mother, sister, and two nephews that they too are flukes.
But yes, seeing how there is no 10 generation bloodline of proven top quality working showline's that I am aware of, I would say thats a pretty big "fluke." Of course, I haven't seen the dogs. I spoke to a breeder once that would convince you his dog was the worlds greatest dog, to your face, then you'd watch his dog work and you'd wonder how he had the guts to talk so highly of his dog knowing that you were 30 minutes away from seeing the dog work in person. I take what people say with a grain of salt.
Norman,
Again in agreement and my applause to you being someone that actually has true "working" dogs! ( I would like to see the pedigree of the dog that appears on your first page. Looks like there is some SL in it! haha!)
You wrote:
"They do nothing to dismiss the fact that working abilities in dog populations diminish if not tested and selected for, and that what is selected for in the conformation show ring isn't working abilities."
--Again, I agree with you here, but, it is also true of most of the people that own (and breed) working line dogs. I have yet to get an answer from all of the overly adamant WL GSD owners on here about whether they actually train and compete with their dogs or if they are just pets? I believe that nearly all are just pets. I train nearly every day, and often multiple times a day , and compete with my dogs, but, again mine are really pets also because I only compete in sports. I am lucky enough to work at a law firm that allows me to bring my dog(s) to work, but, so far they aren't helping me earn a living.
Mike, In my signature line is video of Gipsi earning her SchH2. Hopefully, in the last couple weeks since that video was taken, we have "fixed" a couple of the issues, as she and I are trialing for our SchH3 in late Nov.
Just being funny! Trying to lighten up this whole thread a little.
She looked attractive, though. And, you are much taller than you appear in your posts! (also meant as humor)
