Jeremy what did you do to develop your females prey drive. Just like everything else this isn't necessarily something you don't need to develop, I've found dogs that amateur owners have said there dogs drive is lacking when they've done nothing to develop it after a month or two the dog had crazy drive.
Boy I said DEVELOP alot. lol
WHEN I SEE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL, I'D BE WILLING TO DIE PROTECTING IT.
Weather is supposed to be good today. Minus the 105 degrees. I'm taking my brother with me to video all of it. Since meeka understands sit, down, stay, come, along with the motions is it safe to say I can use corrections for these? I will get the videos to you guys tonight. Some how. I haven't looked to see if I can upload videos on this site. I will just show you guys what I've worked on the past 6 weeks or so and then we can go from there.
No corrections in obedience for right now. More play. Don't worry so much about being perfect.
Jeremy, I give you tons of credit for how much you're working with Meeka. Tons.
I've gotta second Steve and Chris, tho...how much plain fun are you and Meeka having together? How much are you just playing with her? Obedience is usually one of the least fun things for the dog . And, if you're feeling all frustrated (perhaps with yourself, but she won't read it that way...), she knows that.
Also, I'm curious about why you keep asking about when to use corrections. They shouldn't be a part of what you are doing yet. Doesn't matter if she wears the prong collar during training, just don't use it.
I think one of the most common mistakes is moving too fast for the dog. We all do it or have done it. So, take some deep breaths, slow down, and have some fun with her in your training (and play!).

Not near enough play... I will focus on that and not be so serious. Thanks .. It's been too serious. I will just take her to the field and play.. Great point and nice catch. That's prob hurting my progress. Carry this on for a week or so or just split up play and training? So with play no commands or anything?
Your play will include obedience. Tease her a little with the ball, get her moving around and then tell her to sit. As soon as her butt touches the ground, say yes and throw the ball.

Marker training, all positive, no negative and just play... ? I hope I didn't demoralize her .. I bet this has set me back some... It's starting to click now.. Damn it... I'm always learning the hard way honestly I don't feel that " bond" yet.. Make any sense. I think it has everything to do with not enough going out and just having fun.. Hell now I feel bad for her... What an ass I am.. Lol
