We JUST got home from the hospital - we as in me AND Oscar!!
I can't even express how good it was to see him AND finally be able to leave WITH the big ox... I think he knew it was time to go because I brought his collar and lead and they walked him out wearing it, so he was all motor towards the door.
The first thing I did once we got home was plop him in the tub - might as well get it over with and commence with the relaxing and being loved on. Surprisingly, he stepped right in without the usual reluctance, so I'm pretty sure he didn't enjoy the way he smelled either.
Then we had a little meatball snack - he's eating, but it's not with his normal gusto at all. He also seems completely worn out and a little like he doesn't know what to do with himself. After the snack he went right to his bedroom bed (he has 3 beds around the house) and is currently curled into a ball sleeping.
I might be a little paranoid about how his breathing sounds, what his alertness is like, how slowly he chewed his meatball... but it's probably time to just calm down and be extra thankful he's home - he's no doubt exhausted from a week in a scary, strange place, and he's got a lot of healing to do. I will be anxiously awaiting results from the tests they've started, but there's nothing I can do to speed them up... so, we'll just snuggle away the time.
Big hugs to everyone keeping tabs on the beast - he sends you all grateful kisses and is looking forward to being well enough for his next photo shoot.
