I haven't posted often since I've joined, but I read frequently, and I just wanted to say, Micheal you are a truly wonderful person for doing what you did for this poor dog. I'm really sorry it had to end this way, but you are an amazing person for taking her in and helping.
And I'm blown away by the generosity and compassion of people on this board. All I can say is wow - what a wonderful thing to see.

Man......I was hoping for a different ending, Michael. Thank you for caring about that little girl and trying to help her. she did enjoy life at the end, comfort, peace, and love. THAT is a gift you gave her that cannot be measured.
Look! I DO fit in the bag. |

Just this side of heaven there is a place called the rainbow bridge. When a animal Dies it has been especially close to people here it goes.
Where there are meadows and hill for all our special friend so they can run together. There is plenty of food, Water, sunshine, and our friend are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who have been ill old are restored to health vigor. This who where hurt and maimed where made hole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of day long ago.
These animals are happy and content except for one small thing. They each miss someone very special to them that had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, But the day come when one suddenly stops and looks in the distance.
His bright eye intend his eager body quivers. Sundelly he begins to run from the group. Flying over the green grass his legs carry him faster and faster.
You have been spotted and when you and your friend finally meet. You cling together in a joyous reunion never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face. and you hand again carried the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet.
So long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the rainbow bridge together.

A Dog's Prayer
Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside... for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements... and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth... though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land... for you are my god... and I am your devoted worshiper.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.
And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest...and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

I'm glad you and your wife were able to give the puppy a last few days of being in a secure cozy home. RIP Tina.

Is there anyone that sent money for Tina that DID NOT receive conformation from me that it made it?
Wanted to make sure noone had anything unaccounted for.
Thanks again to everybody that offered to help.

Wow...I wish I was here to catch the beginning of this thread. I would have donated as well. I pop in every now and then to catch up on threads and now I'm kicking myself. Even if this has happened you deserve it regardless.
Michael you are an amazing person for doing such a thing and I am so sorry that things had to end in the that way they did. I can say I would have probably done the very same thing and picked her up. How could someone do such a thing as abandon her or run her over and leave and still sleep soundly?
She was very lucky to have found you and at least she got to experience a warm home with attention instead of a noisy, cold ditch all alone.
You inspire me. You truly are a great person.
