Still have the flat head eight fired up, cutouts wide open, tearing up the country side.
However for anyone interested I've found the knob and recovered the steering wheel for the way back machine. So after tonight I'll end the tour from the fifties. Anyone wanting to get their fav's in, now's the time.
My humble selection for tonights line up;
Tossin' and Turnin'
Mocking Bird
C. C. Rider
and last but not least. For those that didn't grow up with these guys you can not imagine how big or important they were.
Vahn Monroe was who I was thinking abot Riders in the Sky.
That's the one I remember as a very small child in the late 40s. Not sure if I even knew TV existed then.

Is that first one Frankie Laine?
Love The E. Brothers (and that song was actually banned in Boston* ) and of course Patsy Cline.
Who did the instrumental Tequila?

Rolling Stone:
Though it sounds quaint today, "Wake Up Little Susie," the tale of a teen couple who fall asleep at a drive-in, stirred up controversy in 1957. The song was banned in Boston but became the Everlys' first Number 1 hit.
And we mustn't forget songs such as "La Bamba" and "Donna" by Ritchie Valenz (sp) who died much too young in the same plane crash that killed Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper.

The Champs! I would not have remembered that name.
Yup, Ritchie Valens was just 17 and Buddy Holly, just 22.
