I handed him a paper with my questions. He was rude and the polar opposite of the vet I had in there last time. It seems lots of vet places in my area switch off doctors. To me that doesn't feel right and I am looking for a good vet.
Put yourself in the vets shoes for a second. How would you feel if I came in and handed you a piece of paper with 20 questions about how to take care of a rifle instead of just asking them to you?
It is not his job to write out all the answers for you. Tell the doctor you have some questions, then refer to your notebook and ask them. Then write down the answer he gives you in a way that you will understand.

I know you said it was probably your fault, but I doubt it was. They're just goofy at that age. Once your thinking changes from being insulted to just handling an idiotic puppy, it just gets easier to deal with. They are driven to practice behaviors that nature needs them to be good at--chasing and biting, namely. They can't help it. You just have to work with it, that's why we buy dogs, not teddy bears, you know? )

Im sorry but handling a puppy does not include scruffing it so hard that it cries.
Yes, Nick, we know you realize your mistake, but im willing to bet that those incidents do directly relate to why that pup is afraid of being touched.
Your role now is to repair what has happened and move forward.
I don't care how goofy, ass-holish, idiotic or stupid anyone feels a puppy is being...scruffing is unacceptable. Especially when it's done hard enough to ilicit a scream.
your right. I now need to pet him a ton which i've been doing. He will try to bite me if I pet him. Not hard just a nibble but I dont want a nibble from a teen or adult that's for sure! We are petting him and paying him as we pet. Hopefully a good idea of positive reinforcement
I told Connie this already.. But Gambit and I were playing tug with him on a long line. He ate a little bit of the stuffing from a soft toy we were tugging with. It's cotton, I wasn't able to get to him mouth like I normally do when he decides to eat something he shouldn't. Yuck so far isn't working. He did it for awhile but then ignored me. err!
So yet another issue with this dog to watch for.
I also think I may have the disease he has and possibly my wife and one of my kids. I haven't had a fever but my wife has. I don't know how we would get it.. I did kiss him and he licked me back getting a little bit of his tongue inside my mouth . (YUCK!!!!) So that's yet another concern.
The more I read about the weight these dogs should be the more pissy I get at the breeder! Maybe I'm right though a small dog with a good sch training program might be one hell of a contender if he can do it. I don't know. I think today is just a bad day for me and I'm frustrated, sick and coming to the realization that I should of checked out the breeder better. He also had another dog with pups so he's breeding a lot. I love my dog do I'm doing what I can for him but I really really really want a dog that can protect my family
A kiss wouldn't give you Giardia (which is a parasite, not a disease).
"Anything that comes into contact with feces (poop) from infected humans or animals can become contaminated with the Giardia parasite. People become infected when they swallow the parasite. It is not possible to become infected through contact with blood." http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/giardia/gen_info/faqs.html
If he is biting you when you pet him, stick a toy in his mouth. This is very typical behavior.

I believe it was mentioned several times when you first were looking at pups that this breeder was less than stellar.
Wanting a dog that will protect your family is a pretty crappy reason for getting a dog IMHO.
