They say don't give the coated ones because they won't dissolve and they will pass the whole pill. Thanks for the concern. I'll let you guys know about meeka. Hopefully by Monday she will be all good... Not with my freaking luck!! So how does it feel guys training a dog you've never seen? Lol!!
i forgot to ask you Anne. When I get my next dog it will be a male. Do males and females usually get along better? I think you said you had a male then got a female. Was you male already mature when you got your female and did you run into any problems.? Seems like i read somewhere that a female/female there tends to be more fights...might of been on this site.
I had my female first(she's a LB Otis line dog)Got her as an 9 wk old pup. I have had 3 other males in the house. 1 came as an adult the other 2 as 8wk old pups. Had 2 males( 9 wks & 9 mo) & 1 female all together. My pups are kept seperate. I want their focus on me, not each other. They do get walked together but are not out free or in the house free together until they are about 1 1/2 yrs old.
I have the same female, now 6 yr, I would NEVER part with her, & a 3 yr old male. He was the older pup when I had the 3 dogs. I, personally would not have another female in the house with my bitch. I don't want to deal with all those hormones raging. She has gotten along with 2 of the males that I have had here. 2 males intact or not can often be less of a problem then 2 females whole or not. Female fights can be especially brutal. Just not where I want to go. My 2 will get into it, if I am not vigilent. My male is always crusing & she is happy to oblige.
With multiple dogs...I think that you have a better shot at harmony with multiple males then females. Or 1 male & 1 female. But all dogs have their own personality & some dogs just don't or won't EVER get along. So you need to be willing to keep them seperate for life if you have that kind of situation. It is not easy, but is doable. Many of us with multiple dogs do it or have done it to keep a peaceful household. No dog should have to live in fear of another dog in their home. JMO
I will also add then sometimes dogs that get along when they are younger will not as they come into mautrity. So owners need to always be vigilent when living in multiple dog homes.
ETA...there are a couple of folks here that live with more than 1 female in their home & live as a pack....Kelly & Dennis They will most like have something to add.

I got two intact females, total PITA, will rank on each other the moment they think I'm not paying attention. They will work together but crates and kennels are the rule in my house.

Question .. When Wrestling around with Meeka she gets very excited and likes to grab ahold of my arm. Seems all play to me. Except every once it awhile it gets a little to rough depending on how excited I get her. Is this good.. Or should I not be doing it. Might be good later down the road when I
Find someone to help with bite work. FYI Meeka seems normal today.
I find two females to be worse, the worst fights I have ever witnessed, and hardest to break up, have been between females.
It gave me a clearer picture of the saying "males fight to fight, bitches fight to win!" JMO
