...when spaying a female doesn't bother them a bit.
I'm a guy n spaying a female bothers me.
My only question is, how do people deal with the bleeding on unspayed house dogs?? The only bitches we've had were outside dogs.
As for my standpoint on docking and cropping - I don't have a problem with it if people wanna go that route, I like docked dobie's, but I think most dogs look better with natural ears.

I too prefer the natural ears and in the U.K. you never see cropped ears. Tails however are docked on the most typically docked breeds but there is a slow increase on Rottys' with tails.
Another topic is dew claw removal. The breeder I bought my Dane from removes them herself on all of her puppies. When I first asked about this when I went to see pregnant mum and dad, she shrugged and said 'Yes, while I'm still allowed.' I think that's next to get banned over here.

In Holland cropping and docking is banned. I think it is not a problem for most breeds, but I don't like the fact that the government interferes in those matters. Lots of people think that everything is cruelty against animals. What will they ban nextis the next thing: e-collar,prong collar, KNPV

Wooden floors, mops, and constant vigilance to stop the dog from jumping on the couch. Having an easy-to-clean room (like my bedroom) with a good door helps.

You never see e-collars and I know if the RSPCA see your dog wearing a prong collar they confiscate it. All haltis, harnesses and citronella spray collars over here- Yet the RSPCA have no problem with dog owners cranking the neck of a dog on a choke collar I've ordered the triple crown collars for my dogs to do corrective training , similar to prongs but with a casing over the top- that'll trick the do-gooders!! I bet you're so envious of me being British aren't you?

Are you serious?? Do they have the authority to do this?? I thought the RSPCA was some non-profit animal welfare charity type thing, I'd like to see em try to get my dogs prong collar off him, he'd freak - and I sure as hell wouldn't be the one taking it off him.

I trust you are joking, Dennis ???
UK doggie folk do have some different prejudices, about prongs & e-collars, etc, but Her Majesty doesn't have anything to do with it (apart from being a great dog- & horse-lover!).
Sadly, despite all this, animal cruelty is still far too widespread in UK, although it is much worse here in Spain

Mike- You're right about who they are and I can't really say for sure, but I have been told they will in the interest of the welfare of the animal. They can always go on to take the animal away from you too while the courts decide about the collar (if you want to put up a fight- like you would . They do seem to have very great powers when it comes to animals, but then the law lets them down by giving the owner of animals that has severely mistreated animals- a crappy little fine and a slap on the hands. I use to work for them and you really see some appalling cases-But I won't go into that.
Dennis- that was a little below the belt wasn't it?
