call the airline right now and cancel the pickup. then call the vet in the morning and make arrangements for the puppy to be boarded and treated by him. after the vet gives the puppy a clean bill of health, you can rearrange the transport.
Alice, I have shipped 7 dog so far, all were adults, and I shipped them myself, I dont want to KILL my dog, I am the last person who wants to do any harm, I did not find out about this till later, too late to stop the transportation. I wrote that vet an emai I made sure he makes sure.
I was looking for an advice.. since all the dogs I have had an experience with were adults. The vet ships 10 animals a day and none of them died.. I trust people who have 14 years of experience. I just wanted to make sure that I dont upset the stomach more than it already is.
And honestly I just wanted to ask you guys for help. The reason the pup is in the vet office is simple they all stay ther till they get a permission to load them I hope the vet is not an idiot... I went through this guy few times and he made sure the animals were OK. I also talked to the shipment company and he told me the pup is OK they do watter the pups... thy dont feed them. That is all I know for sure.
I coocked rice, I will take that with me. Thank you.
I always have watter with me.... kind of survival rule in my family. An I have contacted as many people I can to make sure the pup is OK... I wish I just flu to Europe to get it myself... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

i hope he's not an idiot, too. but we are talking about a PUPPY, not an adult dog. and it is a SICK puppy. puppies get sick and die with alarming rapidity even when they are safe at home, let alone when they are flying on transatlantic flights.
my biggest hope for your pup is that the airlines in germany have regulations barring sick animals from traveling and that this vet will recognize the pup is sick and not authorize its transport.
but if it were me, i would not leave these things to chance. i would get that vet's home telephone number now and call him.

Martina,
I hope and pray all goes well for you and I am sure things will turn out okay. It sounds as though you are making sure the pup is taken care of throughout its flight. I am sorry to hear that you are having these difficulties. I was a nervous wreck on the shipment of my first PUPPY. I was not thinking about the rice and pumpkin, that does work wonders and is a good food choice for a pup/dog with upset stomach and bowels. Good Luck, hang in there and I am sure all of us have ran into situations that are stressful and we all say things that maybe sound harsh but we mean them with the best intentions. Take Care and be sure to let us all know how things are going with you and your new addition.

I see I made a mistake when I assumed that since he was at a vet's office, the vet would not release him for travel unless s/he had determined that the dog could travel OK.
Alice is right, of course, about talking directly with the vet about the dog's condition for travel.
Well he did not have any problems later thy will keep an eye on him... I got lucky the vet got too many animals there and he could not go home.
For your information... In America you are responsible for the watter... they dont give watter to animals. Great thing is He will arive with a big bottle attached to the crate...
I will sleep better, I had nightmares..
