Hi, just my two cents on the LOOONNGGG line. I bought about 100' of cheap yellow 1/4 rope at Home Depot, two collar snaps which I attached to the respective ends of the lines, and a "wind-up" plastic ring used for winding and keeping electric line (it's kind of hard to describe, it's about eight bucks and looks like a plastic tire rim and has a knob to wind up stuff fast).
Then we hit the soccer field nearby our home here in Mpls and are zero to prey drive fulfillment in about 30 seconds. It works very well for us, though I may be doing something stupid and you need to be extremely aware of where that line is. I sometimes wear leather welding gloves (these are also handy for avoiding slipped teeth during tugs games with Annie) and good feet protection. You will get some serious rope burn if that wraps your leg and the dog is going hard on something.
I would not trust the rope over time (I check it every day), and I would not be doing this if my dog was aggressive, the field had people in it, or she did not have relatively okay recall and a generally good disposition. It's not an arrangement I would recommend if you think your dog would like to get out 100' from you and start to see how far she can drag you.
