I always say that it can take 3-6 weeks to see the reduction in symptoms (skin pruritis and secondary ear infections), because I've had that experience with allergic dogs, but I've also had two dogs who responded within a few days to elimination diets.
When he's not at all itchy (if you reach that point, which you may not if he has a combination of environmental and food allergies), you might then consider slowly challenging his system with one ingredient at a time in order to narrow down the culprit(s), with your vet's OK, of course.
Hiphip hooray!! Glad to hear he's showing signs of improvment - I don't know how you feel about the raw diet, but if most of his symptoms disappear - but not all, going raw will probably make the rest go away. But if raw is not for you, definitley the least ingredients is the best on kibble like you're doing. We also do the salmon oil/vitamin e for skin and coat.
