The ring is attached to a nylon portion that functions the same way as the rings in a normal prong collar do.
You can give the same level of correction with these type collars as with a normal prong collar.

I'm not sure that I quite get it Will.. does the collar tighten like the standart prong does?

Most people use the regular prong by putting the leash thru BOTH rings, no choker effect. It gives a better more controllable correction with it thru 2 rings IMO.
This looks very nice and I might get one to try it but......
I'd probably revert to fitting the collar the way I currently do with my bhoys prong by using the prongs which I think would be just as easy for me (maybe <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
I've been using this collar for about a year and a half. Never has come undone, whereas the quick release prong collars have numerous times. I have disc problems in my back so regular prongs aren't an option, but this collar works great for me. Guess it's like electric, either some love it or hate, and everyone has their favorite model if they use it.
