I too live in Texas and heading to the state parks and the like should be fine. My vet told me the same thing that Parvo was running wild ( I think more of a scare thing than anything else ), at any case just use good common since, do not over exercise your pup but take him out and about. I know that I did, took mine to walmart, home depot and every where else I could, you can always go to parking lots at the mall and the like as well, low risk but gets the pup out and about. Those trips are for the pup and not us at any case, so take the little one out and let them see the world. I looked at it like this, socializing my pup was more important that the scare of him getting Parvo. This is a critial time and take them out and have some fun. The good thing about going to the state parks and the like is that MOST not all but most of teh dogs that folks have had thier shots so you will be safe enough. Take them out and let them have some good safe and clean fun.
