I've done some reading on the submissive urination and we haven't corrected this either and I see that we shouldn't. I read that in most dogs it clears up between 8 and 9 months...hopefully that works with our Maverick! He really only does it when I come home b/c he's already out of his kennel b/c my husband is already home and maybe a new person here and there. But all this seems to be pretty normal so thanks again for all your posts, its nice to step back and get some perspective from some people with experience! <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
The key to ending submissive urination is for people to stop doing whatever triggers it -- This means if your dog wets when you greet him, for instance, then ignore him completely when you first get home (no petting, no speaking to him, no talking about him, nor even looking at him!)...
Just go about your business apart from any interaction with him at all & he will most likely calm down enough on his own to approach you without piddling -- Tell visitors to follow the same protocol, but if they don't listen to you & he wets, then THEY need to clean it all up <:-)
