Yes, I'm also a BIG fan of tethering too <:-) It worked like a charm on my dominant/independent Akita, to teach her that I'M the one who controls where she goes, when she goes & why she goes (or doesn't go!) anywhere at all times -- Now she hangs out with me constantly (without further need of the tether) because she quickly learned that HER life is just a lot easier that way...
It proved to be an excellent alternative to crating while I'm home (my dogs are already kenneled for hours when I'm at work) and a simple NON-confrontational fix for her wandering out of sight & getting into trouble around the house <:-)
