I put the collar on him last time and it was probably just loose enough, i'm guessing, where he could get his hind leg and push it off of his head. I put another nylon collar on him quite a bit tighter, I don't see how he could possibly get it off... so i'll see what happens. Basically the only reason for the collar atm is so I can attach leads to it and I have their dog tags on, in case they ever got out of the backyard for some reason.
OMG, listen to me...I sound crazy! All this in a neighborhood with zero crime rate! I should be too embarrassed to even post this but I'm in my 40's now and we women don't care what others think at this stage in our life .
It all sounds good to me <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Yes, I always always have a collar on so they can have the tags on.
And I also make certain-sure it fits right. One day I was rounding them up for a walk and one dog didn't come to get his leash on. Never happened before! So I went to check, and he had a paw stuck in the collar.... REALLY stuck, with the paw in the collar and a claw through one of the buckle-holes. He was sitting there in a very awkward position, almost tipping over, waiting to be rescued, and I was very relieved that I was there when it happened.
He wasn't one to try to get it off, so I guess he was just scratching his neck.
Now I check all the collars regularly, because it doesn't take much weight change or growth to change that measurement and make the collar too tight or too loose.

I didn't see the Sprenger name, or any prongs at all.
Huh? I thought the request was for prongs *or* collars that wouldn't be chewed through?
Andy.
You are absolutely correct. I just meant there wasn't a big choice in collar types. That's all! <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Oh, okay. I guess my perception goes out the window when I don't eat my wheaties in the morning. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

Wow Connie, what a good dog not to struggle & hurt himself.
Yeah, smarter than I thought!
But I don't know what he would've done if I wasn't right there in the next room, calling him (and obviously going to come and see why, if he didn't show up).
