Ed's Comment edited in: The last time we updated the web board my two IT guys completely rewrote the computer code to allow the active topics to look the way they old board did - WHICH WAS TO SHOW THE NAME OF THE LAST POSTER.
I just discussed this with Ryan (my IT manager) and he told me they would have to do that again for this update. He had some concern about how the computer code was written to allow board members to review up to 7 days of active topics. He was concerned about how much work it would take to recode everything if he had to include that feature - WHICH I REALLY LIKE.
So I am inclined to leave this the way it is for awhile. I do the like old way better - where you could look and see who the last poster was.
Ryan is working on a few things today on the board - concerning registration of new members and adding links to the side of the web board. When thats done he will have a look at this issue before we make a final decision on it.
I have to agree that if it's a choice of seeing who the last poster was or seeing a longer list of active topics...I'd choose the longer list of active topics.
WOW!! I like it! Thanks for the access to older active topics... I never could get my lightbulbs to work right. ?! Looks clean and professional. The quick links on the left are going to be well used... newbies on the site can read before they ask questions and we can refer to the quick links easily in our posts.

Hi Ryan
I really like the new format but just noticed something odd. When I use my browser's refresh button to update the active posts page I get a "you cannot do a new search at this time..." message even though I never hit the "search" button.

Is that a quirk with the site or with my browser?
I had the same problem when I was trying to check out a post that I had made. I wasn't searching, but it told me that it couldn't do a new search at this time.
One more question: In My Messages...if you have sent someone a PM, it saves a copy of the message...but doesn't tell you who you sent it to.
Theoretically you already know who you sent it to, but I sent one to Connie that she didn't receive and I tried to double check to make sure that I sent it to her and not someone else by accident, but it wouldn't tell me who I sent it to. So we're not really sure if the problem was me being a goof or something wrong with her inbox.
I'm not sure, but didn't the pre-update board tell you who it was you sent messages to? I can't remember.
