Mara, tell 'em all those Doodles SHED like hell -- The big lie with Labradoodles, Goldoodles & so forth is that they inherit a non-shedding coat from the Poodle parent, but that's BS...
If those idiots want a Curly Coated Retriever, THAT legitimate breed already exists (!)

Yep, $4000 is what one of our clients paid for a 8 week old Yorkie pup.
Her first weekend home the little darling jumped off the couch and fractured her leg in multiple places requiring a $2500 surgery to repair the damage.
The owner brought her injured pup in (all dolled up in a pink outfit for a trip to the vet) then started crying real tears how she never intended to spend $6500 on a dog (it's just a dog, you know).
She then tried to blame the breeder because the little darling's fur was all tangled when the pup arrived and the pup got her foot caught in the fur, lost her balance, fell off the couch, breaking the leg! She actually went after the breeder for the surgery costs!
It was a toss up, that day, deciding who should be put out of their misery: The dog, the owner, or us. (the dog is fine now...but still wearing pink)

It seems that little dogs are all the rage these days. I've seen too many people treat their pets better than their own kids. Give me a large working breed anyday over a little mouse sized yappy barker..

I know what you mean, but not all small dogs are yappy, and not all working breeds are large.
My daughter's working earth dogs would be pretty insulted to be called yappy -- or NOT to be considered working dogs.

Connie,
I didn't mean to generalize, it just seems so many of my friends have these little dogs, not trained at all, they yap at you the whole time you visit, try to nip at you every chance they get, and are spoiled rotten, yet they make fun of my huge mutt who is as calm as a cucumber, and laying patiently in his spot. I know all dogs are not like that, but it seems all the small working dogs I never seem to come across, I'd love to see some in action one day..

I appreciate the little dogs for what they are, but I couldn't tolerate them for long. They're just too frantic for me...it's like they're played in fast-forward!
Watching them work is great! Just not in my house!

They are exhausting! My sons' little king charles is a menace.I am more tired after picking up all the mess he makes than my 3 GSD put together!.He gets obedience training with my son he gets walked everyday , he gets to play and nap and he still drives us crazy.I guess we're not used to a small full of energy 24/7 dog.
My husband was NOT happy when we brought him home at 10 weeks but this past Saturday I put a Ohio Buck eye jersey (for dogs) on him and my husband thought he was the coolest dog.LOL
PS:I never thought I would ever put clothes on a dog but I am guilty of it now.

Inn Norway we have a great law that stop pet stores from selling dog`s and cat`s
Maybe you can get law against it too i hope for the animals.

That's for sure, reminds me of something my father-in-law had once said -
{ Oh what a pleasing monologue, the barking of my darling dog,
But what a tiresome bore, the barking of the mutt next door }
