Yuko, I love Taro! Angelique's right: Your bond with him is really obvious. So is the wind in the videos! Sheesh, how do you do it? Carbon's obedience would be much further behind if I had to train in cold and windy conditions for as long as you do...I don't know how you do it but I envy your fortitude! I would love to recruit you and Amber to my Schutzhund Club!!
Moving to Vegas???
I'm in if you are, Yuko!

Steven, would you call your dog a bi-color or a blk & tan?
I love the look of his head,I think yukos' new puppy is going to look like that as an adult, maybe Ambers young dog too...Sorry I just had a thought |

Thanks for such nice comments guys
Natalya: sounds like you need to get Oscar another Orbs! Lol. And the answer to your question is "both". I'm working him because we have so much fun together, but since he's such a talented dog I will eventually compete with him (if I can get him to that level!). I will get him evaluated for schutzhund soon (I've found good trainers and have contacted them already).

If he doesn't have what it takes for schutzhund we'll do competition obedience. I really don't care what we do at this point, I love that dog so much, he's just so much fun!!

Angelique: thank you so much, I PMed you btw What's this all a-boot? A happy and fun looking dog, eh?
Ha ha... mocking me now, are you??
For your information I don't speak like that, and neither does any other Canadian I know, lol.

Thanks for the kind words - while my Taro isn't as well trained as your Eich (yet!), he's still a joy to work!

(BTW Amber informs me that, since I'll have my own bi-colour pup soon, I will be eligible for membership to the bi-colour admiration club of yours. Fun, eh? )

Amber, you're absolutely right about the cold and wind!!
That entire week in February (from the beginning of the video) was so bloody freezing; something like -40 degrees C (that's -40 F) with the wind chill. The weather cleared the park for me so I had it all to myself, which is always good but it does make it harder to train.

I've accomplished a lot more with my dogs ever since the snow melted and the warm sunny weather motivated me to go out more often... heehee

(On second thought, Angelique's suggestion to move to Nevada might be a good idea after all! Coming Amber? )

				Yuko,
I really enjoyed your video. Training dogs is so fun I know how you feel training in the winter being from the frozen north as well, lucky the dogs don't mind a lick
While you folks are joking about being in the bi-colour club or not....think about me! I am not even in the pointy eared dog club Imagine my envy! I like to pretend my dog has pointy ears, but alas, I am not fooling anyone.

Thanks for sharing!

Jennifer

Yes, the bi-color club. Our dogs however will probably never be part of the club that gets harnessed and goes hanging from a helicopter to rescue an avalanche victim! You did post pictures of that, right?

Lisa >
The picture of my dog hanging in a harness is during chairlift evacuation practice, but I get your point. Grass is always greener...

This thread is about Yuko and her dog though (sorry), and I bet she could do pretty much anything she wanted with that dog!

 Keep us updated

 Cheers,
 Jennifer

I finally had time to watch the video....awesome....plus it looks like he is having the time of his life.
I will order my copy of "The Book" tomorrow. Don;t want to miss out on note sharing with the girls..... Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
