I usually feed redmeat, muscle, organ,on one day and the next chicken w/bones and so on.I alternate each. They love the tripe I have used it now for about 3 weeks and I have never seen any of my dogs eat and lick their bowl the way they do with the tripe.
It smells so bad I have to do it in the garage.I had heard so many good things about Kelp that I thought I would try it.Also my oldest male Yaggo has allergies no matter what. Here in Vegas it is so dry that even my skin itches everywhere.Sometimes me & the dogs are itching at the same time! I can't wait till we move.
Any way as for the organ meats (beef) it is very hard for me to find it here I don't know why that is but I use more of the chicken organs than any other meat.
Thanks again Jan, your info is very helpfull

My boys actually turn up their noses at beef liver and pick it out no matter how hard I bury it or disguise it with yogurt, etc., but they give me no problem with chicken liver. If ever you can't find fresh organ meat, try giving them dried liver treats. Just so they get some kind of organ meat.
I have also heard all good things about tripe (except for the smell!). Glad to hear it is working for you.
I have to say our king charles will not eat it either, but the big guys will eat it if I cut it up in small pieces. They try very hard not to make it easy for me. I did today however buy the chicken liver instead of beef.
The first time I opened the can of tripe in my house, my mother came to visit and thought that one of the dogs had gone potty in the house and she was looking all over my house for it until I asked what she was doing and I had to tell her that that smell came out of a can! She thought I was crazy for feeding the dogs that.

I am embarrassed to admit that none of mine eat liver either. Not beef OR chicken liver. And I am not a cater-to-their-whims feeder.
But they leave it there until I throw it away. I'm sure they would give in eventually, but meanwhile there it is ...... sitting there, drying up ........
Now I stick it in the blender with some plain yogurt every few weeks and freeze the disgusting pink-yogurt result in smaller portions (and hope that I never mistake it for strawberry yogurt).
I tried giving Turbo a chicken liver today(his first one) and if he had a middle finger I think I would have seen it. I mixed it in with veggies and ground turkey 2nite and he ate it. I accidently bragged to Jan in a PM about how good he chewed and would spit out too big pieces and rechew. That bit me in the butt and now he has started rushing through RMB's. I figure he'll slow down more when the new wears off.

I figure he WON'T!
Now he knows how fast he can wolf 'em down..... why would he stop? That careful chewing was just the tentative checking-it-out stage.......
Can anyone tell me ,if you use tripe do you still have to give them veggies?
I asked some of my club members and I got different stories. One of the members is new at it so I think I'll see what you guys think?

I don’t know if tripe replaces vegetables, but I do know that the jury is still out about the need to feed vegetables. I think it is a personal choice for those who want to feed as close as they can to how nature intended, but I am of the opinion that vegetables are not a necessary food group for dogs. I do feed them, however, but only as a filler in hamburger when I want to cut the dogs back a little bit on fatty meat, but I don’t do it for health or dietary reasons. Again, purely a personal choice, and one that I may change with convincing evidence to the contrary.
