It's hard to come on this board and open yourself up to honest opinions. Believe me, I understand. You don't realize how much you don't know until you start researching and stumble upon this site.
On your walks, you might try taking mace with you. I've heard of other folks doing this as cattle prods are sometimes illegal/ expensive. People have probably already suggested prong collars and dominant dog collars along with the DVD... Unfortunately, this stuff isn't free or cheap, but it's worth it. Work with what you have right now and take it one step at a time for you and your dogs. You can do it because obviously you want to.
As far as walking them... PB and Squeeks can get out of a collar or harness in a matter of seconds. Rebbie has broken five collars that I know of, all either leather or nylon. Tia is the only one I trust to walk with. Any suggestions for this??
a good quality prong collar, plus a good quality dominant dog collar - both of which ed sells, and his catalog has an excellent image showing how to hook them both up so that if the prong collar fails (don't beat yourself up, that happens) the dominant dog collar is still there. if your dog can wriggle out of a dominant dog collar, you're doing it wrong.
This is such an annoying thread. You have to get rid of at least 3 dogs, 4 if you really love them, if you must keep one,i'd choose the one who "only messes in the house if not watched, lol. Some people are just meant to be cat people.
go back and read it again and you will read that she bred all 3 sisters.
It's easy to overlook those statements and not gave an ounces of concern. But when you donate your time to your local shelters( which I have) you will see that comments like that (breeding mix dogs ,not one but 3) has to be addressed. When it's not in your back yard it's easy not to care, but you should.Millions of dogs are being put down every year because of people who do the same thing as this woman. Sorry if it's blunt but people have to care because that is the only way things will change for the better.
Angelique, the original poster is NOT breeding OR recruiting a stud (so far as I noticed anyway) -- she's just trying to learn how to manage her pets properly, IMHO

I had to go back and re-read. I have no idea how I missed this:
QUOTE: Three of them are littermates. The littermates are not spade, all have had puppies. END QUOTE
because I feel exactly the same way Angelique does. Breeding pet mixed breeds?!
THREE MILLION MORE dogs enter U.S. shelters every year. The majority do not find homes.
So number one is to get them spayed. PLEASE get them spayed. There are low-cost spaying programs everywhere.
Get them spayed and then pass the word. If you didn't realize before what a huge problem the pet overpopulation is, you know now.
