Hijack away! It's so good to hear this pup has some quality blood! Jason, many many thanks for the link to Carbon's great grandfather! It was wonderful to watch.
I had a link to Ursus' obedience and protection...I'll post it when I find it.
Carbon is getting so huge so fast that I can't help but think of the Incredible Hulk, you know, like I'll come home one day and his collar will be shredded and ripped apart from his growth.

Nice work, one thing I always thrive for is a good relationship with my dogs during ANY exercise, my male yaggo stands tall and pround when we work together,I love that.He is always happy to be at my side.I see so many handlers where their dogs are so low to the ground (like a corgi) because they are expecting a correction.Don't be heavy handed with your pup(i Know you won't)
let him be a pup for as long as he is one and gradually allow your expectations to grown with his.But that's what you see in Ursus ,a happy to train dog ,it's been fun for him and it shows.I cannot tell you how many I have seen that you know first hand that they've worked their dogs' obedience too soon and too much of it with too much compulsion.Be very patient, and gradual, and you'll have the same response as that of Ursus with your pup ..Have him crazy about a toy, tug, whatever you want to use so that his reward is rewarding to him.Yaggo loves tugs but is crazy and can't focus with a kong around, on days I have to ask a lot out of him I reward him at the end with his kong

It's odd..sometimes I think maybe he's not all that prey driven. He really doesn't mess with toys too much...no real chasing instinct for balls at all. And he's CRAZY about food.
But then I notice that if there's a toy and I throw it and the Corgi goes after it---he goes after the Corgi, ignoring the toy. Then I think, maybe that's prey drive after all. Good thing I don't have a cat!
He loves tug!

lol Amber, my pup does the same thing!
He won't chase balls (well a little) but he loves chasing after dogs that are chasing balls.
Have you tried sticks?
Mine is crazy about sticks. Any stick. He picks them up on walks and carries them around. The bigger the better. Maybe he was a lumberjack in a previous life.
I tried getting him to give up his stick today by trading it against a piece of freshly cooked steak. But nope, he'd rather hang on to some stupid slimy stick he picked up off the ground than to have some juicy steak. Who knows what goes on inside their brains...
Anyway...
Carol that dog is amazing!! Omg, wow!!
It cracks me up to see the distractions that the decoys come up with to try and get him to mess up in obedience. How can a dog focus like that??????? Unreal...
And the decoy exploding that water thing all over the dog during the bite work is too funny
I would've been all "WTH?!?!?!?!?" but that dog didn't even seem to notice the downpour!!!
Fantastic clip!!

Yuko,
Have you tried the gum bars or lengths of insulated water pipe or even PVC? Sticks are scary, I had to transport a dog that was playing with a stick and actually punctured his eyeball...ICK
And another dog just this last summer jammed one into the roof of his mouth and it had to be surgically removed.....
Dogs that usually like sticks transfer to the lengths of pipe or gum bars pretty readily, or at least that has been my experience.
Yeah, Ivan's dog is awesome. That is all I can say. When I watch that clip I get goosebumps, but I have to say that PIKE is pretty awesome to watch also.
