Chris, In whatever diet you can afford to feed your dog..See if you can get him to ingest..some garlic..this will help with fleas. If he likes butter..mix some garlic..and give it as a treat. All the sprays in the world..won't protect your dog..The idea is to ensure that the fleas do not want a part of your dog...They do not like garlic. The least amount of insecticides you use on your pup the better..this includes the yard spraying etc..If you want to kill..all the fleas on your dogs body within 48 hrs..use capstar. If you want to treat your yard..use sulphur. I rarely wash my dogs and when I do..I use dawn dish liquid/orvus paste. The itching spots..raw ones..The purple solution works great...lol there is a scarlet one as well.Something easy...is to just buy some medicated powder..gold bond/mexana to that area. You can also use plain "Cornstarch". Sometimes dogs will continue to bite an area even though the area is healed..because that is what they are used to doing.."A mental thing"..Just dry that "Hot spot up" quickly..so they don't.
Thanks for the reply candace, my boy is now 7mo old and the itching stopped about 2 months ago, when I started feeding him Royal Canine. I think it was that damn Authority, petsmart brand. He's been fine and is healthier than can be. He's 7mo and now a little more than half way through the belgian ring events. He's awesome, I know that was off subject, but he makes me so proud I have to brag, sorry! Thanks again.
