I agree with Terry that at least it informs many of us who would otherwise not have known about it. We then can write to those who can make a difference. I'm going to look into getting an email to the people down in Atlanta. Don't know how yet but I'm going to try.
And to one of the posters prior to Terry (can't remember who), no parent/person finds this "interesting". It's deplorable, heartwrenching and sickens one to the core. With the amount of people this board reaches, how great would that be if we all were willing to write an e-mail to the authorities in Atlanta to punish those vicious pieces of sh*t with everything possible? There's what 10,000 of us on this board? The judge would notice 10,000 angry people.

Me too, Terri. I think your title was sufficient because I also had to steel myself before opening it. Did you guys know that the 1st trial ended in a mis-trial because one of the jurors said there was no way she was going to indict those kids? There was to be a retrial, but on Friday the little monsters plead guilty on all charges and threw themselves on the mercy of the court. If it were up to me they would be shown no mercy & would be sentenced to the full 80+ years, no chance at parole.
It is a shame that we can not inforce IQ test when buying a animal (of any kind) or having children!! This would help! I person only read the title of the story and that was enough for me. I did not need to read the story.
I personally think parents should be accountable for their children under the age of 18. If the parents were getting locked up for the crimes maybe they would think twice about letting their kids run around at all hours.
***I am not feeling particularly merciful today, or ever if animal (or child) abuse comes into the picture.*** I feel the same way.
I don't think Ed wants stuff like this on the forum. The last time something was put up, a lady left the forum for being attacked about her opinion and peoples rash accusations. I do understand that the topic of this thread is very sad and sick, but not everyone wants to read about things like this. We know it's out there but we don't want to read about it, JMHO.
These postings can cause heated responses, it's true, because they're very emotional.
I think I know what post that was that the lady left the forum for, but I don't think that people's opinions were "rash" in that particular situation. But let's not go THERE again!
But you're right, some people prefer not to read this stuff. Some people think it's important that we do.
My personal opinion is that all of this stuff is in the news, and the same rule of thumb applies whether you read it in the paper or on this board: If you don't want to read it, then don't. No hard feelings from me either way. I do think that a "content warning" should be posted in the subject, though, so that people can fairly make that decision.
I've found that often these posts bring up important debates about dog-related situations, about law or ethics, etc. I personally think those debates are important. But if you don't, that is your decision to make.
It would be nice if some "happy" dog-related stuff came up more often to balance it out though...Where's Lassie when you need her? Well, okay, him.

I totally agree, but there are people upset with the content, and I do believe people should put a warning that it's not pleasant content. I just thought that this forum was more for Q&A on dogs(health, training, etc.) I don't mind reading other things, but... sometimes a thread does get outta hand and the content isn't good and things do get heated. Like you said, Amber, where's Lassie when you need er, him. LOL
