that's good- I'd like to keep feeding it. I'll see what they reply to me, the other person who wrote them got a reply that they were favorable about PETA, but this is being filtered through another person. And I don't care if the rep writing the email back to me likes peta, as long as the company doesn't officially support them.

Companies HAVE to stop donating to Peta, Petas' employees (for the most) are bunch of losers and hypocrites.Peta is such a farce

I figure if Ed is selling Honest Kitchen and feeding it to his own dogs, I won't have a problem doing the same for my own, regardless of PETA. I haven't read anything about it and won't trouble myself with it if I don't need to. Right now, my dogs are more important.

Hello everyone. We've heard that there's been some discussion on our (The Honest Kitchen's) affiliation with PETA, so we wanted to clarify. Here is the official response:
The Honest Kitchen is a PETA Business Partner. As far as the pet food industry is concerned, PETA is working to highlight some of the cruel and unnecessary laboratory-based animal testing that takes place in pet food production. In addition, their lobbying of various meat industries has culminated in the improvement of the living conditions of many animals destined for meat production. These are the primary reasons The Honest Kitchen has associated with PETA. We do not conduct animal laboratory testing and we are striving to use 100% humanely raised meats in all our products in the near future.
We certainly respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and would be glad to answer any other questions you might have.
Thank you!
The Honest Kitchen

Hi Jane,
I was wondering what being their business partner means? Does this mean that PETA receives a percentage of profit from The Honest Kitchen's or that THK donates a certain amount to PETA every year?
Thanks,
Amber

Yes, but as far as I could see, that page only deals with charities on a case by case basis, with THK picking a new one every month and with organizations applying for donations.
I would assume that as a business partner, things are a little more regular than that. You know what I mean? If I donated to the Human Society, even every month, I wouldn't consider myself to be their "business partner." So I'm just wondering what that means in this situation.

The link just directs me to the Honest Kitchen's site. And the PETA site just says something vague about help to end animal suffering, etc.
I'm assuming that means monetary help, and cross-advertising. But I'm just wondering about specifics.
I'm not trying to take any side...there isn't enough information to, IMO. Do they donate a set amount every month? Is it a percentage from sales? Just cross-advertising?
She said they'd be glad to answer any questions we have, but maybe she meant through their site and not on this board.
Now that I think about it, this is might be a good idea for a main topic as opposed to taking a sharp turn on Kristina's thread! Sorry Kristina!
Thanks for your help, though, James!
HA! Someone posted it as a main topic as I was writing this! Talk about instant results!

Okay...when I was responding to that new post, I got a message saying that "The post you were responding to has been deleted."
?????
Just curious why it's deleted? Isn't this something that's okay to talk about given the response by Honest Kitchen that said they were open to talking about it and answering questions?
