The steak only worked for a few seconds just long enough for the dog to eat it and look for another. When he didn't get another steak he went back to work. It's obvious the dog hadn't been taught food refusal. The wolf urine confused the dog for a couple seconds but he bite the girl when she moved forward. I wasn't surprised about the urine from a bitch in heat.
He looked like a really nice dog and I wish they would of spent more time on him. It was nice to see them show that you can get a lot of basic obedience done with dogs in about a week regardless of thier age. hope that convinces a few people to fix thier dogs
I didn't see the dog on their website. I'm with you but I think the show was aimed at non-dog people. It showed people with little experience yes you can teach and older dog new things. I bet after a few food refusal sessions the steak wouldn't work. I know a guy in the Menlo Park schutzhund club I'll ask him if he knows the dog. My friend knows and has worked some of their dogs.
The thing about getting pass any protection dog is how bad does(the perp)need to get into your house or car, simple. It's not really how bad will your dog be.In columbia all they bring with is another dog for distraction they throw their dog into the property they are trying to get into and get pass.Simple.
Ususally the dogs are too busy fighting to even notice the perps getting pass.Unfortunely there are so many ways to get passed a dog if YOU really really want to get in,( like a bullet). But most meth maggots and drug addicts that rob to get their next fix are not smart enough to bring bitch in heat urine . They simply pick houses w/ no dogs.

Odd....I tuned in to watch...and it definately was not the episode you guys are discussing.
Iam in Ontario,...but I didn't think that would make any difference.
The episode we had was one about escaping from a car underwater and folding paper.

I actually was laughing my butt off in some parts of it. The whole man in a can thing was funny, especially when the dog figured out how to try and tip it over.
My favorite, was of course, the Bloodhound. I wish they would have shown him "working" more.

don't worry Brad, they didn't show the same episode as the one in the states.
As Yuko pointed out, it was a repeat. I had it set to record and it was an old episode.
