I took my Mal out on the boat for her first water search training and she jumped out of the boat thinking there was "land" there.
That was the funniest thing I ever saw. She now rides in the boat nicely and also swims out to retrieve her toys from the shore.
Before that, she did not want to go into the water at all.

Diane, I bet the water temp in Las Vegas ain't too bad this time of year!!! I would pop that pup in the pool & encourage him to swim. I take all my young GSD pups to the ocean from the time they are weaned and they all grow up loving to swim. The cold never bothers them, but it really doesn't get too cold in my neck of the woods!
