Green tripe from grass-fed animals would be a good source of Omega 3s.
Omega 3s are manufactured during the digestion of grass and other greens and stored in the fat (including the tripe fat) and some of the organs of the grass-eating animal.
This is a big reason for the modern deficiency of Omega 3s in the diet of canids ...... dogs, if they are lucky enough to get meat and not grain-heavy kibble, eating most of their meat from grain-fed slaughter animals. Of course, it's a big reason for the modern deficiency of Omega 3s in the diet of humans, too.
After everything I've read I handled the tripe container like it was a bomb.
I had ziplock bags on each hand and carried it to the end of the driveway to cut it up! I almost felt bad giving it to my dog because surely no animal on earth could enjoy something that smelled that bad. Don't tell Turbo it ain't good!

I'd love to order from the prey4pets site, but my experience with even express delivery here in Phoenix is stuff sits in the NON-air conditioned trucks for however many hours it takes to deliver to my home, and if I happen not to be home when the delivery comes, it's put on my 120 degree front porch. Deliveries of frozen or cold items in the summer here is risky to say the least.
That happened when I ordered salmon oil. It sat out on my front porch in the middle of summer til I got home. Real bummer.
I order from greentripe.com and I get rolls of 5 lbs frozen.I never open it in the house , I open it in the garage. I feed it every day 25% of the daily ratio and under neath it I place a piece of each organ.They love the tripe over anything else you'll place next to it.One thing I've noticed is that my dogs dont feel the need to eat the grass(our lawn) anymore.I really feel that greentripe make your barf diet complete of what yuor dog needs on a daily basis.One day of the week (sundays) they get 20OZ of tripe and that is the only thing they get for the day.Green tripe is a very important part of their diet, U should really have it..
Green tripe looks like the stuff you get out of your lawnmower bag after you've mowed, plus some pieces of stomach lining throwned in it...
I don't see it's been mentioned so I'll add this source: I get green tripe from Bravo. It comes frozen in 1 lb plastic containers. Bravo sells it already cut up in weird looking chunks. I thaw it out just enough to separate it with a spoon into meal size amounts and then it goes back into the freezer. It really isn't that bad of a smell when done this way. I give him a palm size amount once a day. He's no different than your dogs - he loves it too!!
