I do not have a picture of his mother, and here is the story behind the name Konichiwa. The lady I got it from can be very controlling. I was going to name it Scruffy and her response was "You are NOT going to name my dog's puppy Scruffy." SHe told me that since I was in Tae Kwon-Do and practice the sword, I should name it something unique like "Konichiwa". I said, well, not Konichiwa because I dont's want to name my puppy "hello (Konichiwa is Japanese for hello). Well, she decided that that was a good name and started calling him that, and when I said I wanted to name him Kumate, she told me that 1) that sounded like a girls name, and 2) she had started calling him Konichiwa and I was to call him that because he was going to get confused otherwise. So that's how he got named Konichiwa. I took some more pictures and will provide a link in a bit (from what I understand, I have maxed out my 2 pics on the board)
Welcome.
I must admit that in the pictures, your puppy looks a bit like an afghan hound. That may change as it grows...
As far as the name goes, the puppy would have no problem learning a new name! If you are happy with that one, stick with it. But, don't keep it just because the "breeder" told you to. JMO
