Well unfortunately not many do their homework and are going to look deeper into it and jump to the idea that they can feed cooked and will start adding things that are of NO value to a canines diet, they'll think Oprah is doing it so let's all but not have paid attention to the top of the list which was raw cause she sis not spend a minute on going over it with the public on what Raw diet is ..
Daniele don't assume that people are going to look up her website to get informed, most likely they'll get chicken, rice caorrots, potatoes and that is as far as they'll get on educating themselves on the canine diet.I know you liked the show and I did too but I felt that the k9 world was robbed on that show from good pure healthy information and with a show like that it could have been so much better in benefiting our pets to be fed the RIGHT diet. Sorry but it was a push for cooked food...

I saw the show too. I was happy to see a vet advocate for a RAW diet on a nationally syndicated popular show. I agree that it would have been better if the vet were allowed to expound further on what an appropriate RAW diet is.
All three of Oprahs dogs looked hideously fat. I bet Cesar told her that & she got pissed & went to the new Geller woman trainer (who I think is a joke).
i, for one, was happy to see ANY celebrity vet advocate a raw diet. it's called raising conciousness one baby step at a time. i won't comment on her trainer, except to say that motivational training IS effective.
one teeny step at a time....not everyone is as "enlightened" and "educated" as the ppl on this board.
I thought of the fact that another show would be a good idea also and emailing them was a first step. Maybe more raw feeders emailing would get her attention. The nice thing about Oprah is she does care about dogs and might actually be interested in this topic.
"The holistic vet seemed to have a lot of great information. I believe he should have more air-time."
I read his book and I purchased it 6 or 7 years ago. He talked about cooked chicken and rice from what I remember. He might have talked some about feeding raw chicken???
I wonder if his updated book (which I believe Ed sells)includes the benefits of feeding raw. Since he put it at the top of his list, I imagine he has more information and is pro-raw feeding at this point.
His book also talked a lot about over-vaccinating pets. I found this information very interesting since it was coming from a veterinarian. As someone who used to take the vets word for everything, I found this book helped back up my feelings that my pets don't need SO many shots, if any to stay healthy.

Tamar Geller is a goofball. She refers to pinch collars as "torture devices". She claims to have learned how to train dogs by watching wild wolves raise their young. What a joke.
I saw her on another show and she was telling the host of the show that if you carry a bag of hot dogs hooked to your belt, a dog will heel perfectly She was wearing a belt with a bag hooked to it and said that you should have that on you at all time, ya I want to smell like a hot dog all day ...........she is a joke and probably only owns Bichons and never had to deal with a real dog

HAHAHAHA, I agree with you Angelique, I would bet Toy Poodle though......
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
I totally agree with you Angelique. What I wouldn't give to see a trainer like that work a high drive, powerful breed dog. That would be so fun to watch!
