My advice would be to take a few steps back and work on leadership. Read Ed's Ground work articles, and read working with dominant dogs. He has also written a good article on chow mixes that would be very good to read. Along with doing obedience work. And be very careful with your child around, accidents can happen in the blink of an eye. It is very important to establish pack leader status with this dog or any dog for that matter. I have found Chows kind of act like cats in certain ways. Read Ed's stuff and you will see what I mean
