The kennel I work at (boarding/grooming/retail/adoption/daycare) has a reputation in the area for the "big tough" dogs. We do get a good handful of small dogs -- we are on a street that lots of people pass to get to work, so it's convienient for everyone -- but we do get a lot of the big guys. In addition to the ever-present Labs, we get a lot of pits, chows, Akitas, GSDs/Shilohs, Mastiffs. The boss has several dogs including a Neopolitan, a Bullmastiff, and a GSD and you'd see them at the kennel all the time when it was first starting up, which is how it got that way.
I don't know if a kennel -only- for working dogs would be able to make it -- depends on the demand in your area. But you can certainly have your specialties and cater to those sorts of people. If you are known as a sport person and especially if your facility offered training for sport, you'd be getting lots of sport dogs -- just the way it goes.
Yeah thats pretty much what i was thinking. I am deffently trying to have a good obedience course for the kennels. And it would be great if i could get a group there. But this is years from now :-D
