Consider this when feeding your dog. I classify my foods into: Plenty, Moderate and Minimal. Pork is one of my minimal foods, once every two weeks. Chicken and red meats are plenty foods. Fish is a moderate food, 3X in two weeks.
I would not use the scraps as a mainstay feed, supplemental, sure. Concerns are: no control over the meat type, fat content and how long the scraps are laying in a heap exposed to everything! (People walking on them, spilling chemical cleaners, the list goes on...)
I also am a fan of those chicken leg quarter sales!(Which BTW have a nice chunk of backbone on each leg.) A case of chix necks, chunk muscle red meat on sale, fish on sale and it still comes out cheaper than a premium bag of dog food for me. It is also easier to keep your dog lean, I see so many dogs puffed up like ballons from kibble food.
So to answer your question, no I wouldn't use it as a mainstay, especially with the probable high pork/fat content. Just my opinion.
After doing some research and reading of a more natural diet v kibble i made the plunge and have started to feed the dogs raw. Boy i have already seen some changes in a week less water they need ,firmer stools and the most inportant contentment after they eat ,teeth and gums are looking better and my older male is loving it.Since being in the US i have always fed kibble ,while in England i had fed raw washed tripes and love the results my dogs got from this .Still learning about the process of adding veggies and stuff ,but looks good at this point,thanks Mike for the info .
