My pup is about 46 lbs. at a little over than 8 months.
Her back comes up to a little above my knees, don't know how tall that is, but I'm about 5'10". If any math junkies wanna figure that out. Haha.
She looks a little skinny up close, but I think she's fine.. My dad says she needs meat on her bones and continues to put gravy on her food when he makes biscuits and gravy for himself.
Sheila,
Sounds about right. My last one was kind of the same story. She was a brick at 24 and half inches, with a natural weight at close to 85 pounds. In her later years forcing the issue on weight seemed to help. Five pounds made a big difference.
Good luck hope you have many happy days ahead,
Randy
Hans is 21 months old and 87 lbs. At about 16 months old he weighted 97 lbs. and the vet said he was over weight, so we restricted his food a little and increased his exercise a little. We also stopped giving him treats other than the Liver Biscotti we buy from Leerburg. He loves them and they seem to be lower in calories than other commercial treats we'd been giving him.
For the past couple of months he's been between 85 and 87 lbs. and the vet says he looks great. You can feel his ribs and spine but can't see them, and he as a very well defined waist (which he didn't have when he was heavier.)
I think Jerri must be a mutant. Or maybe it's the umm... horse fertilizer she goes trolling for out at the barn. She will be eight months old Oct. 10 and is 24 inches tall and weighs 70 pounds.

It's amazing how weight varies within the breed.
You are so right. We can never gauge by just age, height, and pounds.
This mature adult guy below is 66 pounds; he's just built that way. I've seen dogs of the same height who outweighed him by 20 pounds without being fat.
