As for why I don't do a raw diet, I'll be honest. There's too much work involved, I am afraid to and would rather just scoop it out of the bag. Yes, I'm lazy.
You could scoop it out of a THK bucket. :>

I would consider it if I could get it locally. lol.
Keep in mind that I live in middle Georgia and it takes forever for people here to change or keep up with the newest technology in anything. You aren't even allowed to purchase alcohol on a Sunday, so what does that tell you? lol.

Ah, Denise? Aren't you glad you didn't buy Xoey? I'd be in the process of repossessing her as we speak,LOL!
You have spent more energy, time, and probably money disinfecting your yard after a POSSIBLE Parvo infection than I do on a raw diet, guaranteed. And there are lazy ways to feed raw. Like Connie said (and I offered you months ago!) The Honest Kitchen is about as easy as it comes. If you're too lazy to dump hot water in a bowl, how are you gonna take care of a GSD pup?
If you went that route, not only is it light to ship, and therefore cheap, you can add rmb's right out of bags...now how easy is that? This morning, I fed 6 dogs and 3 cats a good meal in about 12 minutes. Divide that by 9, and I think you see where I'm going...
The dogs got chicken leg quarters (right out of a bag-I make them grab it so I don't have to touch it, lol) with THK Embark, squirts of Timberwolf Organics Wild Salmon oil, vitamin E, and the big ones got 1000mg of Ester C. Yesterday it was the same thing for breakfast except w/pork neck bones, and later they got chuck steaks. Oh, and I spent $.10/lb on the chicken (score! I bought 100lbs!) and $.77/lb on the pork, and $.92/lb on the steak (got it b/c the neck bones are so heavy on bone and light on meat). Sooo....don't tell me you're lazier than I am. You CAN feed raw. But only if you love your puppy Yeah, shamelss guilt trip!
But for bad, lazy people, I recommend Timberwolf Organics Wild and Natural Dry and Ocean Blue, their 2 grain-free recipes. For whatever reason, dogs do beautifully on it longterm, as opposed to Evo. It's not quite as high protein as Evo, but those percentages don't really concern me nearly as much as what is actually in the stuff. What I've heard in reference to puppies on it is they don't gain enough weight, but how most people view good weight and how I do is vastly different, so take that w/a grain of salt.

P.S. I have never seen an acceptable food at a Petsmart. Maybe others have different experiences.
Connie, I have personally gone through the first few ingrediants of probably every dog food in that store and I have to wholeheartedly agree with you here. Disgusting.
Also, what you said about corn is true. Did you know a chicken nugget from Mc D's is 56% corn?! So you can only imagine how much corn the fillers from dog food contain. Another interesting note, though: The foods in the store all contain alot more corn than some would guess. Not to mention hormones in the meat and pesticide on the vegitables. So, we raw feeders should keep that in mind when we are talking about how healthy our dogfood is.
That said, I think it is probably safe to say the the raw diet is still more fresh and contains less stuff that I would like to keep out of the dog's body. It is more work, but not much more. The pinnicle of the raw diet IMO is raising rabbits and feeding them veggies before feeding them to the dog. I once read a post that Yuko Blum wrote about this and it was inspiring...

we have had Zeus on canidea ALS dry with some wellness core wet mixed in try this place online http://www.petfooddirect.com/store/ I've never ordered from them but some others are happy, I have several local places that sell higher quality food. Definitly go with something better for the dog you end up feeding less and have less stool removal aside from the health benefits.
