'The Hound factor'. I totally understand then Shody. I have a friend that has hounds who uses e-collars and he has to crank the gain up to obscene levels to make them twitch. Hard heads for sure ..
FWIW I've seen my girl rub her prong on the ground, scratch and shake her head from time to time with it on. I know it is on right so I take no heed to her shenanigans and just move on with the task at hand.

Oscar (a Ridgeback like Shody's) also shakes his head more with the prong on - I think sometimes, because of his floppy hound ear set and the height of the links, that the collar tickles the back of his ears... he doesn't look uncomfortable, and doesn't miss a step, so I don't worry about it either...
Geoff - your girl is looking SO beautifully grown up!! What a looker!

I haven't bought the leerburg prong, but did change to an adjustable which helped.
He fought when he decided he did not want to get into the car, both times. I have been using treats to lure him in now. He is better, but sometimes still pulls back. Funny thing, it is only with one of our three cars, he doesn't like it for some reason
.....
Shody, I took a couple of links from the larger size and squeezed and forced them into my medium size and ended up with a good fit. They're just a little longer so they add a tiny bit with each link.
Then you can remove how ever many of the medium links so you can get a kind of in-between fit. (Sorry, hope that makes more sense.)
