You know what Connie? Raw feeding is not that popular in Australia and my vet doesn't know I do it :-) I tend not to talk about it much to other dog owners as everybody seems to be convinced they've found the one and only diet and want to convince you they can get it cheap for you if only you'd change to it. It is also not that easy to get good quality raw food for dogs in Australia (I have some trouble getting hold of organ meat - usually stock up to make sure I don't run out) unless you buy at the supermarket which is what I do. Most people still feed either kibble only or a mix of kibble and raw. I have several friends in Europe (I'm Dutch by birth) and over there they really find it a very scary proposition to give a dog a bone it can eat. Bizarre really isn't it? If you think about it - what does a carnivor normally eat? I have bought severel books on raw feeding through Leerburg and do find them very useful. I've revisited them over the last day or so and some actually have devoted some space to pregnant dogs. I'll keep you all informed re how she's doing and hopefully with great news about healthy pups in February.
