Welcome! What's your plans for him/with him, aside from being attached to your hip??? (or is that slang for PPD? :grin
He's a keeper looking kind of guy!
I used to go to Ruston LA for summer vacations as a kid...I used to come back north (heh, Iowa) saying Ya'll after having been around "Ya'll" fer a cupla weeks!

Thanks for the welcome and compliments everyone! : )
I notice a theme here. Where's the General Lee? Or at least some kind of Mopar.
Don't forget Roscoe's Basset Hound "FLASH"
......the names...lol.....well...if my DH lets me get the dogs, he gets to name them...so thats all him...
i had thought about naming him general lee , flash was mentioned to....lol, i even considered cooter....
but boss fit him best so we stuck with that one... the bad thing about that name tho is when im yellin 'BOSS! BOSS!" across the yard, it sounds like im yelling something else...something bad...lol
What's your plans for him/with him, aside from being attached to your hip???
nope, not slang for ppd...lol..
when i first got him i just planned on a HPD...i was/am, having problems with stray/ packs of stray dogs, and coyotes coming into my yard...i have two kids 6 and 7..i just wanted a dog that would protect them in the yard..atleast give warning that something is there....i knew nothing about schutz untill after i got him and started reading about GSD'S....i started "play" training with him and found that he loved everything...tracking, tug, he has so much energy and drive that i've realized i need to do something with him...recently ive found out that there is a club or two within driving distance from me, so my new years resalution is to get involved in 'something' with him....

Julie,
It is from the show "Dukes of Hazard". The TV series not the movie.

Hi, Julie. Who did you get Boss from? My female Ava, has several of the same dogs. She is an Olly Koksbuckel daughter. I know the man that owns Olly and he's the breeder that sold me both my dogs.

Olly is a very nice dog. Produces very high drives in his pups. Larry retired, Olly from breeding after he bought a male named Jabina Falco. Olly is still a serious dog. He will bite with or without a sleeve. The dam of my female is a 1/2 sister to Cindy Koksbuckel.
I hope you enjoy training Boss. If,he's anything like Ava it will be fun. I haven't done much bite-work with her but she impress the local K9 department with her speed and fight. I've seen several dogs Olly has produced. Very few have been titled since most have been sold locally in Mississippi and no schutzhund clubs in the state. a couple are working police dogs. Most of the ones I've seen have good drives and nerves with dark pigment. Ava isn't as dark as Boss but her littermate in Mobile is that dark. Ava has the sweetest personality but let someone that doesn't belong here show up and she's turns evil.
I don't know much about the DDR dogs in his pedigree but the West German dogs further back in Boss's pedigree are very well known producers.
Once again welcome to the board.

thanks for the info tracy...im having the same problem here with the clubs, mostly everything here is for hunting dogs....but ive heard of atleast one in new orleans, but we dont go to new orleans unless we absolutly have to...but i think there is another on this side of the lake, maybe hammond or slidell..hammond only a 30 min ride, slidell about 45 min..which seems not to be very far compared to what i hear other people drive...i plan to SERIOUSLY check it all out after new years...

Seabrook is Galveston? I grew up in Baytown and LaPorte and no one ever referred to Seabrook as Galveston Did you just mention that because Galveston is bigger/well known compared to Seabrook? Just wondering...
also, Julie, check these guys out:
